Can you escape the massacre?
If they are after the murderers who have lost their humanity...
This week we're continuing with a short story. Let's see if you like it.
She clutched her baby anxiously, almost burying it in her chest. She wrapped it tightly, focusing only on its chin pressed against her breast. Danger, attack—she didn't care. She was just trying to satisfy her empty stomach with her most primitive instinct. The mother, however, was at a loss, overwhelmed by the stress of the situation. She couldn't believe it. How could a person be so cruel? Holding a stick with nails in it, the child, driven by the adrenaline triggered by sadism, ran back and forth, calling out to the others, "They can't have gone far. They must be around here somewhere." When the others said, "Come on, let's go, it's getting late!" he threw the stick he was holding aside in frustration and ran after them.

The mother finally took a deep breath. She had dodged another danger. But this would not be the first or the last. She quietly continued to breastfeed her baby.
Every corner of the city was filled with such murderers. People's consciences and compassion had now been dulled. Brutal force and ruthlessness had taken hold everywhere. What had she witnessed already in her short life as a young mother? When she was completely sure everyone had left, she slowly emerged from her hiding place. She looked around. Traffic was starting to build up on the street. The noise of cars in heavy traffic mingled with the honking of impatient drivers and the wail of ambulance sirens. It was complete chaos. The crowd of people walking on the sidewalk was no different from the vehicles in traffic. Even if they didn't honk their horns, it couldn't be said that they looked at each other very kindly. Carrying the fatigue of their working lives on their shoulders, people were practically walking over each other on the sidewalk. Sometimes they even collided and continued on their way as if nothing had happened. Yet, until recently, they would say "Good morning" to each other when they met on their way to work and "Good evening" when leaving work. Whatever happened, they suddenly became savage. It was as if each of them had turned into a murderer. It is unclear whether it was their lives or their lifestyles that caused this. Some news reports even discussed how consuming more meat made people more aggressive, but no animal kills another for pleasure, even though it consumes meat. They only choose the weakest to satisfy their hunger. That was natural selection. Only the strong survived. But humans began killing not in the name of natural selection, but only to satisfy their own pleasures.

They sat down on the steps of an apartment building without drawing too much attention. After a breathless rush, they returned to a state of calm, stillness that wouldn't last long. The baby was full, but the mother was still hungry. Some of the passersby on the street looked at them, but no one stopped to ask if they needed anything. Neither the mother nor the baby had the energy to make a sound. They watched the passersby with the nervousness of a pigeon. As they sat quietly, a child holding his mother's hand suddenly started running towards them. With nowhere to run, the mother stood rooted to the spot, helpless. The child opened the lunchbox he was holding, immediately placed the uneaten food next to the mother, and then ran back, took her hand, and they walked away. Finally, a morsel of food would pass her throat. She swallowed the food without breathing. On the verge of fainting from hunger, such a meal was unexpected for him. At that moment, he thanked God and begged Him for this nightmare to end as soon as possible.
They couldn't stay in the same place for very long. They quickly gathered their things, thinking another danger could appear at any moment. They lived in a world that required them to always be on alert. Mother and son set off again in search of a safer place. As they headed for the vacant lot behind the building on the corner, they were unaware that the cold cage of the municipal vehicle waiting for them there awaited them. Unfortunately, they were among the hundreds of thousands of stray cats living in Turkey.
The saying "Geography is destiny" should not be said only for humans…
This is the kind of country we live in. Expecting animals to be valued in a country where humans are not valued is foolish. As long as we humans believe that this world exists only for humans, and continue to think that everything else was created for humans, we will never become fully human. We will remain life forms that breathe, eat, drink, live, and consume, but are not human.
We destroyed their habitat. We reduced their living space. Now we are hunting them down. Why? For a healthier and more hygienic environment…
Humans, with their technology, the pollution they create, and even their very existence, are incompatible with the environment and pose the greatest threat to the world. In fact, if we could be a little more like animals instead of trying to be human, the world would be more beautiful and livable. Because animals have always been in harmony with the nature they live in. Humans, however…

This week, cheer up a poor stray animal.
I hope you have a good weekend.
